Aero deliver new AT-3 to Fly Polska

Aero of Mielec have recently delivered the first of two new build Aero AT-3 training aircraft to the Fly Polska flight training school. This AT-3 is fitted with a Garmin glass cockpit flight display.

This aircraft is SP-GDK c/n 063 - Fly Polska have a small fleet of training aircraft that operate from the airfields at Mielec and Rzeszow.

The second example will be registered as SP-GDL c/n 064 and is due to be handed over to Fly Polska in late September 2012.

New AT-3 delivered to Hub Air of Belgium

In May 2011 Aero Ltd delivered the first of two new build AT-3 light aircraft to Hub Air of Belgium. The aircraft arrived in Antwerp on 10th May with the Polish registration SP-GEW.

Hub Air operate a flight training school operating a variety of aircraft types including the AT-3, SR-20 and the twin engined DA-42.

The AT-3 features a new glass instrument panel. A second AT-3 registered SP-GEX will join the training fleet - the AT-3 aircraft will operate from both Antwerp ( EBAH ) and St Hubert ( EBSH ) airfields.

New Aero AT-3 aircraft in the UK

Aero recently delivered one new build AT-3 R100 c/n AT3-055 to the UK from their factory at Mielec in Poland.

This light aircraft was registered in the UK on 27th September 2010 as G-SKAZ.

Another recent AT-3 aircraft to be registered in the UK is G-RDFX - this example is a factory supplied kit and has been registered with the PFA c/n 327-14295 - it was registered on 8th July 2010 - I suspect that this kit *might be* factory c/n AT3-009 but would welcome confirmation please.

G-UKAT - Aero AT-3 - Accident 9th May 2010 in UK

Aero AT-3 G-UKAT was destroyed in an accident at North Weald airfield on 9th May 2010.

The aircraft hit a motor car whilst trying to land and caught fire. Thankfully the pilot and car passengers survived the accident.

G-UKAT was the sixth AT-3 to be built by Aero at Krosno in Poland but is unusual as it was delivered to the customer as a factory supplied kit. It arrived in the UK in April 2004 and was allocated the Popular Flying Association kit construction number PFA 327-14107. The aircraft is registered as an Aero AT-3 SK ( ie kit built ).

Aero have since moved their production facility to Mielec in Poland and have built over 50 examples of the AT-3 to date and more than 25 examples of the enhanced AT-4.

This AT-3 was based at North Weald airfield just to the North East of London - North Weald was a major RAF airfield during the Battle of Britain period in 1940.
