New Ekolot KR-030 SW Topaz delivered

Gray Light Aviation of France have posted images of a brand new Ekolot KR-030 SW Topaz from the Ekolot factory at Krosno in Poland.

The aircraft is finished in a white/blue colour scheme and shows the underwing Dept registration 89-XT and radio callsign F-JLBL in the cockpit. 

The aircraft is likely to be from production batch 030-13.... or 030-14....

Ekolot - new deliveries to France

Gray Light Aviation of France recently posted images of two new Ekolot aircraft from Krosno, Poland delivered to France in January 2021 by truck - the pictures show one new JK-05 Junior and one new KR-030 Topaz - construction numbers are unknown - Junior production had reached batch 10 and Topaz production has reached batch 11 by 2020.

Ekolot fly new Topaz SW

At the end of October Ekolot test flew their new version of the Topaz, the Topaz SW. This version features a wing span reduced from the previous standard of 10.52m span to 9.52m. The wing fuel tanks have been removed and placed inside the fuselage.

This allows the wings to be disassembled for easier transport inside a trailer or to store the aircraft in a building. The first flight took place at Krosno airfield in late October 2020 with the aircraft wearing the test registration SP-ZARA.

New KR-030 Topaz delivered in France

The Ekolot dealer in France has just delivered a brand new KR-030 Topaz aircraft to a customer in Dept 37 ( Indre et Loire ) - the aircraft has been registered as "37-AFL".

Almost 40 examples of the KR-030 Topaz have been built so far by Ekolot at Krosno, Poland.

First Ekolot KR-030 Topaz in the USA

Ekolot recently delivered the first Topaz light aircraft to the USA.

 
The aircraft c/n 030-03-10 has been imported by NIU Group of Illinois and was registered as N717SP in November 2010. The KR-030 Topaz has sold to many countries including South Africa, France, Czech Republic, Poland and Thailand.

Ekolot KR-030 Topaz - recent delivery

Ekolot have recently delivered a new KR-030 Topaz aircraft to the Czech Republic. Registered as OK-PUS-24 the aircraft is c/n 30-03-07.

  
The aircraft was built in Krosno, Poland and was delivered in May 2010. It was seen at the recent Aero 2010 event at Pribram.  The Topaz has a distinctive shoulder mounted single section wing without support struts.  So far approximatley 30 examples of the Topaz have been built with examples flying in Poland, Czech Republic, Thailand, France and South Africa.

News from Ekolot re JK-05 and KR-30

Ekolot posted the following news about their JK-05 Junior and KR-030 Topaz aircraft today.


02.02.2010 Fulfilment of technical requirements certificate.

After 4 years of testing, researching, preparing technical documentation and various ground and airborne tests The Polish Civil Aviation Office issued approval certificates for construction of our aircraft JK-05 Junior and KR-30 Topaz, placing both aircraft in the register of qualified aircraft types. The certificates have number 1 and 2, which means that we are the first Polish ultralight manufacturer that went successfully through the complicated process of aircraft certification.
Earlier, The Polish Civil Aviation Office granted us the certificate of design, production and operation of the aircraft. Now, on the basis of all the above certificates we will be able to improve the quality of service delivered to our client - it concerns both the process of registration and operation.
